London venue Cafe OTO launches second label, TakuRoku

London’s Cafe OTO has launched another in-house label.

TakuRoku is a digital-only outlet that shares “works created in response to the current lockdown.” It’s OTO’s second label after founding Otoroku in 2012. The new label’s goal is “to provide a way to help sustain both Cafe OTO and the artists involved through these incredibly challenging times.” 50 percent of profits will go directly to the artists, and the usual artist share from downloads by members will remain intact.

For the official launch, TakuRoku presents new works by Lucy Railton, Agnes Hvizdalek, James Rushford, Melaine Dalibert and Jacken Elswyth, with previous releases by Steve Gunn, Harrga and more available.

Cafe OTO also has a “COVID-19 Survival” online shop to help insure the future of the independent, experimental venue.
