Streamland picks: Violet, Zenker Brothers, Jenifa Mayanja, Volvox

As has become the new norm, there’s plenty of great music to check out this week via the online world of Streamland.

Hard techno fans are being treated to a six-day virtual festival, Hard Union Week, which began on Tuesday and runs through to Sunday night, May 31st with slots from the Voight-Kampff, Kompound, Hard Harder Hardst crews and others from around Europe.

This Thursday sees Pittsburgh club Hot Mass booking their fourth streaming date with Lisbon native Violet joining Overland and Boo Lean for a grab bag of cutting edge dance floor jams. Friday gets heated as Cleric invites Volvox and Stef Mendesidis into the virtual booth for a Clergy session, while Nowadays gets the Zenker Brothers back on the digital airwaves after the pair played a highlight early set at the last Club Quarantäne.

Saturday looks particularly stacked this week. Seb Wildblood gets creative, hosting a festival within Minecraft’s premiere venue, Club Matryoshka, with Move D, Kelly Lee Owens, Jenifa Mayanja, DJ Masda and more playing across multiple blocky rooms. PBR Streetgang are gathering up mates like Darshan Jesrani, Crazy P and Donna Leake to help raise money for UK food banks; London sex-positive party Crossbreed is getting dressed up and ready for its first virtual rave with host Kiwi; Diaries From The Underground is broadcasting sets and interviews with Seth Troxler, John Tejada, Tara Brooks and Doc Martin; and San Francisco weekly Visions Of A New World debut their cinematic online offering with underground heroes Mark McGuire and Earthen Sea.

Things relax a bit on Sunday, when Seeds And Ground boss Kaoru Inoue heads up the day at Tokyo’s newest venue, Spead, which has chosen to keep its doors open to give local artists a place to broadcast from. Back over in San Fran, Solar and Galen fire up the Sunset Sound System to do what they were born to do—soundtracking the sunset.
