Japanese dream pop artist Cuushe reveals new album, Waken

Cuushe, AKA Mayuko Hitotsuyanagi, has a new album on the way.

Waken is the Japanese dream pop artist’s first album since she detailed the stalking and harassment she suffered by producer Ametsub, who stole from her and tried to blackmail her, and a hospitalization that ensued.

Record label flau says that the new album, as a result of her coming out of that period of her life, is clearer and more open, with less hazy production. There’s also a noted dance music influence on some songs.

In the past, Cuushe has worked with artists like Iglooghost, Teen Daze, Nite Jewel, Palmistry and more.
