Olivia Rodrigo Teases Potential ‘Landslide’ Duet with Stevie Nicks

Olivia Rodrigo’s upcoming Daisy Chain Fields festival may turn into a deeply emotional experience this August if the superstar manages to pull off a dream collaboration with rock legend Stevie Nicks. During a recent interview on Good Morning America with Diane Sawyer, the conversation turned toward the potential for a live performance of the Fleetwood Mac classic “Landslide.” When Sawyer expressed that seeing the two artists share the stage for that specific song would be a dream, Rodrigo offered a coy response: “We might make that happen for you, Diane. We’ll see. Can’t give too much away.”

The prospect of such a performance represents a once-in-a-lifetime moment, bridging the gap between a seasoned rock icon and one of the most influential voices of the new generation. In her October 2023 Rolling Stone cover story, Olivia Rodrigo reflected on the power of “Landslide,” noting how she often thinks about the longevity of her own career. “I saw Stevie Nicks singing ‘Landslide’ to this huge stadium of people,” she shared. “That heartbreak that you feel when you’re young, thinking about singing that song when I’m Stevie Nicks’ age… it’s really powerful.”

A New Era of Festival Culture

During her GMA appearance, Rodrigo provided further insight into the vision behind Daisy Chain Fields, describing it as a modern-day evolution of the iconic Lilith Fair. “Lilith Fair was a huge inspiration in me starting this festival,” she told Sawyer. “The first person that I called when I decided that I wanted to do this festival was Sarah McLachlan. She’s a total trailblazer and an incredible artist and a friend.”

The festival, scheduled for August 29 in Irvine, California, boasts an impressive, all-women lineup that mirrors the spirit of its Nineties inspiration. The bill features a diverse array of talent, including Bikini Kill, Chappell Roan, Doechii, Garbage, Mitski, and the Breeders, with special guest appearances from Nicks, Karen O, and McLachlan. Rodrigo emphasized that net proceeds from the event will be donated to non-profit organizations focused on women and girls, noting that the artists’ willingness to perform for charity is a “testament to their hearts as well as their talent.”
