BTS Bring ‘Hooligan’ Music Video to Life at the American Music Awards

The global superstars BTS made a show-stopping appearance in Las Vegas, delivering a performance of their Arirang track “Hooligan” for the 2026 American Music Awards. The set appeared to have been filmed during their Arirang World Tour at Allegiant Stadium shortly before the awards ceremony.

The septet appeared onstage bathed in red light and dressed in sleek black outfits, flanked by masked backup dancers. In a moody backdrop that echoed the track’s official music video, the group brought their high-energy performance to thousands of fans.

The AMAs announced that the South Korean icons would be on the bill for the 52nd annual ceremony just five days before the show. The group is currently in Las Vegas, having kicked off their four-night stand at Allegiant Stadium on May 23, with additional shows scheduled for late May.

BTS are nominated for three awards this year, including the marquee prize, Artist of the Year. The group is also nominated for Best Male K-Pop Artist, and their single “Swim” is up for Song of the Summer.

The group has remained incredibly active following their return from a multiyear hiatus, during which all seven members completed their mandatory military service. Since dropping their comeback album, Arirang, in March, the members have been focused on global touring and solo projects. In a recent cover story, RM described the creative mandate he set for the group: “I’ve been saying to the members, ‘If we don’t challenge anymore, then I think there’s no reason that we should keep doing this as a team.’ We have to show the world that we are still ongoing and still exploring.”
