ZBR FEST
Screamo label Zegema Beach Records is throwing its annual ZBR Fest in Chicago on May 3 & 4 at Subterranean with Vs Self, State Faults, Salvinorin-A, Poetry of Torch, Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead, February, Clay Birds, Sinema, Respire, Votive, Eyelet, Black Nail, Adobe Homes, Massa Nera, and 10 more bands TBA. Tickets are on sale now.
SEUN KUTI & EGYPT 80
Seun Kuti, son of Fela Kuti, has scheduled a few tour dates with Egypt 80 around their appearance at Coachella 2025. That includes a residency at NYC’s Blue Note on April 3-6 with early and late shows each night. They’ll also play Philly, Knoxville, Chicago, and more.
AROOJ AFTAB
Having already played as part of Winter Jazz Fest’s 2025 Marathon, Arooj Aftab will also be performing three nights this week, playing Night Reign across three nights at the related Prototype fest on January 15, 16, & 17.
NINE INCH NAILS
After news leaked, Nine Inch Nails confirmed they will be touring this year but are postponing the announcement due to the LA wildfires.
TURNOVER
Turnover have announced an extensive 38-date tour for the 10th anniversary of Peripheral Vision, and it includes dates with Turnover’s longtime sister band Citizen, as well as two other veteran bands in the Run For Cover orbit, Balance & Composure and Tigers Jaw, plus newer RFC band Horse Jumper of Love and Turnover’s Virginia neighbors Keep.
GOVERNORS BALL 2025
Governors Ball announced its 2025 lineup today which includes Olivia Rodrigo, Tyler the Creator, Mk.gee, Clairo, Mannequin Pussy, and more.
COHEED & CAMBRIA / TAKING BACK SUNDAY / FOXING
Mastodon aren’t the only band that Coheed & Cambria are going on a co-headlining tour with this year. They’re also doing one with longtime peers Taking Back Sunday that hits amphitheaters across the US and Canada this summer, and that one’s a great triple bill with support from another (comparatively newer) lifer band with roots in the emo scene, Foxing.
GREEN RIVER FESTIVAL 2025
Western MA’s Green River Festival returns for its 2025 edition on June 20-22 at Franklin County Fairgrounds in Greenfield, MA and the lineup includes Courtney Barnett, Waxahatchee, MJ Lenderman, Julien Baker & Torres, Kevin Morby, Mt Joy, and more.

REVEREND HORTON HEAT
Reverend Horton Heat is almost always on the road and his summer tour with Nathan & THe Zydeco Cha Chas hits NYC’s Brooklyn Made on June 18.
RIVERS OF NIHIL / HOLY FAWN / INTER ARMA / GLACIAL TOMB
Pennsylvania prog/tech-death metallers Rivers of Nihil have announced the “Aggressive Progressive Tour” for this spring, and the very interesting support lineup lives up to that name. They’ll be taking out the genre-blurring, post-rocky Holy Fawn, post-everything metallers Inter Arma, and Denver death metallers Glacial Tomb.
SPEEDY WUNDERGROUND NITE IN BROOKLYN (PREWN, SLOW FICTION, MORE)
UK indie label Speedy Wunderground, which was founded by Dan Carey and has released records by black midi, Squid, Black Country New Road and more, is presenting a show at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on February 25 with Prewn, Slow Fiction and one more TBA “very special guest (maybe Heartworms?).
Prewn also play Baby’s on Sunday, January 19 with Wheavy, Weathergirl, DJ Matthew Danger Lippman.
NY4LA BENEFIT
Jesse Malin’s many East Village clubs are hosting a three-show NY4LA benefit happening on January 27, 28, and 29 at Berlin Under A, Heaven Can Wait, and Bowery Electric respectively. Full details have not been announced but acts include 95 Bulls, GIFT, Anna Fox Rochinski, Model/Actriz (DJ set), Patton McGee (The Nude Party), and more. Any ticket purchased will be honored at all venues day of show, capacity allowing. Proceeds to to LA wildfire relief.
NY LOVES LA COMEDY BENEFIT
Here’s another LA wildfire relief benefit, happening at The Bell House on January 7 and this one features comedians Phoebe Robinson, Chris Gethard, Myq Kaplan, Sydnee Washington, Todd Barry, Zach Zimmerman, and Seaton Smith, plus music from Louis Cato.
BEAR MCCREARY
Composer Bear McCreary, who has done the scores for The Walking Dead, God of War, Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power, Battlestar Galactica, Outlander, and more, has announced the “Themes & Variations” tour, where he’ll perform his most famous soundtrack work from various series, video games, and films, as well as music from his debut studio album, The Singularity.
