PAINT IT BLACK
Paint it Black have announced their first West Coast shows in 10 years, hitting Los Angeles (The Echo on 4/18 w/ Personal Damage, Artificial Joy, Seudo Youth), Anaheim (Chain Reaction on 4/19 w/ Dangers, Entry, Sweat), and San Francisco (Neck of the Woods on 4/20 Sabertooth Zombie, Bite The Hand, Mutilated Tongue).
WEEN
Ween were scheduled to celebrate their 40th anniversary on tour in April, but the dates have now been cancelled. Dean Ween writes in a statement, “I need to step away from performing live in order to preserve my mental and spiritual well being, and instead focus on myself and loved ones.”
BRUCE HORNSBY
Bruce Hornsby has extended his Spirit Trail 25th anniversary tour with his band The Noisemakers. New dates start June 27 in Plymouth, MA and run through October 5 in Portsmouth, NH. Head here for all dates.
DARYL HALL AND ELVIS COSTELLO WITH THE IMPOSTERS & CHARLIE SEXTON
Daryl Hall and Elvis Costello teamed up for 1984 single “The Only Flame in Town,” and 40 years later they’re hitting the road together for a co-headline tour. Elvis will have The Imposters with him, augmented once again by guitarist Charlie Sexton.
MADNESS
Madness’ first US tour in 12 years is set to begin in May, and they’ve now added a Los Angeles show.
AIR
French band AIR added a second NYC show to their fall Moon Safari tour.
JOE HISAISHI
Joe Hisaishi, the composer best known for his work with Hayao Miyazaki, will be on tour bringing “Music From the Studio Ghibli Films” to major cities in North America.
NORTH TO SHORE FESTIVAL 2024 (B-52s, KURT VILE, MORE)
New Jersey’s North To Shore Festival is returning for a second year, celebrating music, comedy, film, and technology in Asbury Park, Newark, and Atlantic City. Among this year’s events: Gary Clark Jr at Asbury Park’s Stone Pony Summer Stage on June 12; Band of Horses at Asbury Park’s Stone Pony Summer Stage on June 13; Kurt Vile & The Violators at Atlantic CIty’s Anchor Rock Club on June 20; and The B-52s at Atlantic City’s Ovation Hall on June 22.
MCLUSKY
Mclusky are on their North American tour now, which just hit NYC for a show at Warsaw on Thursday night (3/7) and now the band have announced another, much more intimate Brooklyn show.
SNOOPER
Nashville mutant punks Snooper are touring their way to Austin for SXSW, beginning tonight in Indianapolis and then hitting Nashville, Atlanta, Birmingham, Baton Rouge and Houston before arriving at the Texas capitol.
CINDY LEE / FREAK HEAT WAVES
Cindy Lee, aka Patrick Flegel, formerly of Women, will release a new double album, Darling of the Diskotheque, this spring. Your first chance to pick it up will be at the merch table on their tour with Freak Heat Waves. Cindy Lee will be “accompanied once again by shredder Mounir Chami from ‘whimm’ duo,” which they call “a klassik power duo situation…the duo will be running it hot.”
PUG FEST
Emo festival Pug Fest returns to Ferndale, Michigan for its second year from June 28-30, and the wave 1 & 2 bands have now been revealed. The lineup currently includes Belmont, Prince Daddy & the Hyena, Saturdays At Your Place, 156/Silence, Retirement Party, Dikembe, Dollar Signs, Stars Hollow, and more.
THE AGGROLITES
LA ska / “dirty reggae” vets The Aggrolites are coming to the Northeast to headline day two of CT Ska Weekend at Space Ballroom in Hamden, CT and headline day three of Pennsylvania ska festival This Is Not Croydon Fest on April 21. Right before that, they’ll play a Brooklyn show.
JOHN GARCIA (KYUSS)
Former Kyuss vocalist John Garcia, who was also in Slo Burn, Unida, Hermano, and Vista Chino, will perform his classic Kyuss, Slo Burn, and Hermano material on tour this spring. Jared James Nichols, Telekinetic Yeti, and Left Lane Cruiser will join him for most of the shows, which include stops in Chicago, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Montreal, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and more.
J COLE’S DREAMVILLE FEST
J. Cole‘s Dreamville Fest will return for its 2024 edition April 6 and 7 at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, North Carolina. This year’s headliners are SZA and Chris Brown (on Saturday) and J. Cole and Nicki Minaj (on Sunday). Check out the whole lineup.
