Mclusky played their first NYC show in 20 years @ Warsaw w/ Martha’s Vineyard Ferries & Pure Adult (pics, setlist)

Having postponed their 2022 NYC show along with a few other dates of their tour, Mclusky finally made it back here for their first show since playing Mercury Lounge back in 2004. The reason for the postponement was frontman Andy Falkous’ chronic ear ailments. Those have been sorted out as best as possible, with a plexiglass shield around drummer Jack Egglestone’s kit, and Falkous wearing noise-cancelling headphone on stage. It was still plenty loud for fans, though, at Brooklyn club Warsaw on Thursday night, where they tore through a set of classics including “Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues,” “To Hell With Good Intentions,” “Fuck This Band,” “She Will Only Bring You Happiness,” and “Collagen Rock.” Check out Mclusky’s setlist below.

Openers at the Brooklyn show were trio The Martha’s Vineyard Ferries — aka Come/Codiene’s Chris Brokaw, Volcano Suns/Shelac’s Bob Weston and Kahoots’ Elisha Wiesner — and noisy Brooklyn duo Pure Adult. Photos from the whole night by P Squared are in this post.

Mclusky will be back in Brooklyn to wrap up their tour at Baby’s All Right on March 24.
