Love Injection is starting a new label.
Love Injection Records is a newly-minted imprint from the New York-based zine, which already runs a label called Most Excellent Unltd. The first release is a single from Conclave, who will put out a full album on Love Injection Records next February.
Conclave is a duo from Brooklyn, made up of Cesar Toribio and Scott Scribner, who met while they were students at Berklee. Their work is influenced by a shared interest in Afro-Latin music as well as Toribio’s upbringing in church, where he played drums. The duo use live bass, drums, guitar, keyboards an an MPC, with most of their songs rooted in improvisation.

Announcing the launch of @loveinjection.records, a natural extension of our beloved @loveinjection.nyc for the past 5 years. The mission for the label is to provide a sonic avenue for the artists that we’ve been lucky enough to get to know through our journey in print. Kind of like how Tuba Frenzy was a zine that also occasionally released music. Today we inaugurate this new chapter with the pre-order of @conclavemusic’s single “There’s Enough” from their forthcoming 2021 album, and hand dyed tees, both available on our fresh new @bandcamp page. There’s more to come, but for now, want to give thanks to @lisarampilli (album art), @bernard.nevil (animation), @guarionex_jr (photography), @walking_barefoot_ and @thunder_shout (merch), and to Cesar and Scott for putting their valuable baby in our hands and trusting us with it. ?❤️ Link in bio.
