Lætitia Sadier played National Sawdust with Storefront Church (pics, setlist)
Stereolab’s Lætitia Sadier is currently on tour in support of her excellent new solo album, Rooting for Love, and played Brooklyn’s National Sawdust on Wednesday night (3/20). Unlike her last tour, where Lætitia was backed by a band, this time she’s performing solo, using guitar, loops, and trombone; if you didn’t know she played, she does, and is quite good at it. He set was drawn almost entirely from her solo material with a couple songs she did with her group Monade. It all sounded quite lovely in National Sawdust’s pristine acoustics.
Opening the show was Storefront Church, aka Los Angeles musician Lukas Frank, who recently released the Sadier-featuring song “La Langue Bleue” from the soundtrack of AMC series Monsieur Spade. Check out photos by P Squared of the whole night in this post.
