Indigo De Souza shares new hyperpop-inspired EP ‘WHOLESOME EVIL FANTASY’

Indigo De Souza has released a surprise new EP, WHOLESOME EVIL FANTASY, out today (9/20) via Loma Vista. It’s her first release for the label, and its three songs have a hyperpop-inspired sound. “These songs come from the spiciest, most goofy, glitter gloss place in my psyche,” she says. “I wasn’t really thinking very hard when I wrote them. I was just having so much fun. I am continuously inspired by the sounds and energy brought by my collaborators, Elliott Kozel and Jesse Schuster. They are always making me laugh and bringing out the silliest version of me. I would not have discovered this new space without them. Listening to these songs fills me with gratitude for the playful musical connection we have, as well as everlasting friendship. My baseline existence can be pretty heavy and complicated, but these songs made me deeply joyous the whole time I was working on them.” Stream the EP below.

Indigo is throwing a pair of dance parties to celebrate the EP’s release, happening at Los Angeles’ El Cid on October 3 with DJ sets from Harmony, Succubus, and Azure.fm, and her hometown of Asheville, NC’s The Grey Eagle on October 8 with DJ sets from wifi mommy, boys_camp, and oragami. She also has shows coming up, including the NYC and DC-area editions of All Things Go, and Asbury Park, NJ’s Asbury Lanes on Monday (9/23) with Ill Peach. See all dates below.
