Duval Timothy reissues his debut album, Brown Loop, with an alternate tracklist and bonus material

Duval Timothy‘s 2016 debut album, Brown Loop, will be reissued via his own label, Carrying Colour and The Vinyl Factory in October.

The multidisciplinary artist, who lives between London and Freetown, Sierra Leone, recorded the album in New York in 2016. The new version has a slightly altered tracklisting and a few bonus tracks, available digitally.

“It is not just jazz, it’s pure hip-hop, as the hooks are reminiscent of the shards of melancholy legends like Dilla, Pete Rock and Havoc used in their best work,” writes Martyn Dykers in the press release. “In terms of repetition, the music is also very techno. And like in all good techno, the patterns (perhaps contrary to popular belief) ooze humanity and emotion.”

Last month, Duval released the RA-recommended LP, Help.
