Bloomsday announces new LP, playing SXSW & more shows (watch “Dollar Slice” video)

New York-based artist Iris James Garrison has announced a new album as Bloomsday. Heart of the Artichoke, their second LP, is due out June 7 via Bayonet, and it was co-produced by Ryan Albert of Babehoven. Andrew Stevens (Lomelda, Hovvdy), Alex Harwood, Richard Orofino, Maya Bon (Babehoven), Hannah Pruzinsky (h.pruz, Sister.), and Chris Daley (Tomberlin) all contributed to the album as well, and you can see the cover art and tracklist below.

The first single is “Dollar Slice,” a warm, tender folk track soaked with pedal steel. Watch the video, by Richard Orofino and Pearl Dickson, below.

Bloomsday is headed to Austin for SXSW this month, and also has shows with Dear Nora, Charlotte Cornfield, and Al Menne lined up. See all of their upcoming dates below.
