14 New Songs Out Today

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

SAVAK – “LEASH BITER”

Brooklyn’s SAVAK have announced their sixth album, Flavors of Paradise, which will be out March 1 via Peculiar Works / Ernest Jenning Record Co. The band recorded it in a marathon three-day session at Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio studios in Chicago with Matthew Barnhart behind the boards. The urgency of the sessions definitely translates to first single “Leash Biter,” which mixes pop hooks and simmering post-punk tension.

GREEN DAY – “ONE EYED BASTARD”

Green Day have shared the fourth Saviors single, and this one finds them exploring their riff rock side. “‘One Eyed Bastard’ started off as just a riff that I had — a shuffle, almost like a Black Sabbath kind of riff,” Billie Joe Armstrong says.
