‘South Park’ Season 29 Premiere Date Revealed

Following a successful 28th season, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have officially announced that the iconic animated series will return for Season 29 this September. The duo shared the news during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, confirming that the show will maintain its tradition of delivering topical, biting satire.

Comedy Central has confirmed the premiere date for September 16, with subsequent episodes scheduled to air throughout the fall on September 30, October 14, October 28, November 11, and November 25. In true South Park fashion, the announcement was accompanied by a characteristically irreverent 10-second promo featuring Eric Cartman.

While the show’s production model has shifted in recent years—moving away from the 10-to-15-episode seasons of the past toward a tighter, five-to-six-episode run—Parker and Stone emphasized that the creative process remains as hands-on as ever. During their conversation with Kimmel, Parker noted, “We still do everything ourselves the way that we did. When we’re doing a new season, it’s like we’re the band going in to make another album. We don’t know what’s going to come out.”

The show’s ability to pivot quickly remains its greatest strength. Season 28 famously tackled a wide array of current events, from political tensions to cultural shifts, often integrating these themes into the show’s surreal narrative arcs. As the creators continue to navigate the complexities of modern satire, fans can expect the upcoming season to maintain the sharp, real-time commentary that has defined the series for nearly three decades.
