GOUGE AWAY

Gouge Away released one of our favorite albums of the year so far with Deep Sage, and they’ve been touring behind it and have more shows coming up in November: a headlining West Coast US run with Initiate and Cold Gawd (good lineup) and three Brazil shows supporting Joyce Manor (ditto). All dates and tickets here. They also made a new video for “No Release” made up of footage filmed and edited by Clara Griot at the band’s recent Paris show with Teenage Wrist and Angel Du$t.

FOUR YEAR STRONG / FREE THROW / ONE STEP CLOSER / DEATH LENS

Having just wrapped up their tour with A Day To Remember and The Story So Far (and Scowl, Militarie Gun and Pain of Truth) last night (7/28), Worcester easycore vets Four Year Strong have now announced a headlining tour in support of their upcoming album Analysis Paralysis (due 8/9 via Pure Noise), and they’re taking out a pretty cool support lineup: Nashville emo staples Free Throw, Wilkes-Barre melodic hardcore torch-carriers One Step Closer, and LA punks Death Lens.

2MANYDJS

While on the East Coast for Making Time fest, 2ManyDJs (aka Soulwax’s Stephen & David Dewaele) will hit Brooklyn at Good Room on September 20. with opening sets from Each Other, Andi, and Kristine Barilli.

KELLY LEE OWENS, MABE FRATTI & MORE ADDED TO MoMA SUMMER SOUNDS SERIES

MoMA is hosting the Summer Sounds series in their sculpture garden on Saturdays through August 31 and they’ve just announced additions to the lineup: Kelly Lee Owens and 8ULENTINA will DJ on 8/10, and Mabe Fratti, Arushi Jain and DJ’J will close out the series on 8/31. Summer Sounds also includes performances by Eartheather, Jlin, and more.

BLXST

LA rapper/singer Blxst will support his recently released album I’ll Always Come Find You with an extensive tour where he’ll be joined by Leon Thomas, Joyce Wrice, Zacari, And Joony on select dates. The NYC show happens 10/17 at The Rooftop at Pier 17 with Leon Thomas and Joony.

DEAN SPUNT (NO AGE)

No Age’s Dean Spunt will release a new solo album, Basic Editions, on September 27 via Drag City. He’s also announced fall tour dates which include two NYC shows: Union Pool on 11/7 with Chronophage and Nuke Watch, and Francis Kite Club on 11/8 with Eric Copeland (Black Dice) and Itch Princess.

KATIE GAVIN (MUNA)

MUNA vocalist Katie Gavin announced a solo tour last week, and now she’s added second shows in NYC (Bowery Ballroom on December 11) and Los Angeles (November 26 at Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever). See all dates here.

FU MANCHU

Fu Manchu are rescheduling their August West Coast tour due to Scott Reeder’s broken elbow. “Please hold on to your tickets because we are working to announce new dates as soon as possible,” say the band. “We will be able to do the September tour with Clutch and Rival Sons so we will see you for those.”

JAMES VINCENT MCMORROW

James Vincent McMorrow recently released a new album, Wide Open, Horses, and will be on tour this fall, including two nights at NYC’s Brooklyn Made on November 8 & 9, plus stops in the Boston area, DC, and more.
