JACK WHITE
Jack White, as you may know, covertly released a new album last week, only on white label vinyl that was slipped into shoppers’ bags at his Third Man stores in Detroit, Nashville, and London. We may know more about that soon, as he’s playing a few shows in the South this week and will be replacing Queens of the Stone Age on a few European festivals in August.
THURSTON MOORE
Thurston Moore has a new solo album on the way and he’s got shows lined up as well. In December, he’s playing four nights at John Zorn’s The Stone, and each show is a unique collaborative show with guests, including his old Sonic Youth bandmate Lee Ranaldo and Fred Frith.
MAD CADDIES
Mad Caddies started their summer tour in Le Garric, France tonight at Xtreme Fest and are then making their way across Europe through the first week of August. They’ll then head to North America for a tour that includes stops in Halifax, Chicago, Minneapolis, St Louis, Detroit, Cleveland, NYC (Gramercy Theatre on 9/8), and more.

GANG OF FOUR / MINI-MEKONS
It’s a double dose of Leeds, UK legends in Gloucester, MA at The Cut Live on October 30 as Gang of Four play with The Mekons. The Lineup for Go4 at this show will be original members Jon King and Hugo Burnham, plus guitarist David Pajo (Slint) and bassist Gail Greenwood (Belly), while it’s technically “Mini-Mekons” with with a slightly pared-down version of the group led by Jon Langford and Sally Timms. This looks to be a one-off, but wouldn’t this be a great double-bill tour?
A SAVAGE (PARQUET COURTS)
Parquet Courts’ A Savage is doing a few solo shows at Union Pool this fall and there are now four of them (October 1-4) with the 10/3 date being new.
