Cults announce new LP ‘To the Ghosts,’ share “Left My Keys”
Cults shared their first new music in two years, “Crybaby,” back in April, and now they’ve announced a new album. To the Ghosts, their fifth LP, is due out on July 26 via Imperial. They co-produced it with Shane Stoneback, and it was mixed by John Congleton and mastered by Heba Kadry. See the cover art and tracklist below.
They’ve also shared another new track, “Left My Keys.” “It’s about growing up and feeling like you’re being left behind,” Madeline Follin says. “You think you’re missing out on things and not accomplishing enough. You get a little bit older and realize you don’t care anymore. All those things you were worried about don’t matter. You become comfortable where you are. It’s freeing to let go of the feeling that you need to be a part of something.”
“It’s a bright spot,” Brian Oblivion adds. “With this being To the Ghosts, ‘Left My Keys’ is dedicated to the ghost of your high school memories with an element of fondness.”
Cults are on tour through the summer and fall, including headlining shows with Bnny and dates supporting Vampire Weekend. They’ll be in NYC on August 28 at Warsaw with Bnny. See all dates below.
