Japanese band Lamp touring North America for first time, opening for Mitski ++ headline shows

Japanese trio Lamp have been making light, jazzy/folky/tropical indiepop since 2000 and have released 10 albums so far, the most recent of which is last year’s Dusk to Dawn (夜のペーソス ). They rarely play live but have been coaxed to North America for the first time to open a few dates on Mitski’s summer tour, and they’ve now announced headline shows while here, including stops in DC, NYC, Chicago, Boston, Toronto, Philly Austin, LA, Portland, Seattle, and more. All dates are listed below.

There’s a NYC show at Brooklyn Steel on September 15. Tickets for all headline shows go on sale Friday, May 17 at 10 AM.

Mitski has a song called “That’s Our Lamp,” but that is about a piece of furniture.
