Zayn Malik Cancels U.S. Tour Dates Following Health Recovery

Zayn Malik has officially canceled his upcoming U.S. tour, the singer announced today, just two weeks after his hospitalization for an unspecified illness. The American leg of Malik’s Konnakol Tour was originally scheduled to begin on July 12.

While some of the singer’s previously scheduled performances in Europe and Mexico will proceed as planned, Malik confirmed via an Instagram Story that his U.S. arena dates for the summer and fall are no longer moving forward. In his statement, Zayn Malik expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support he has received from his fanbase.

“To my fans: Thank you so much for all the support and love you’ve shown me on the album release and more importantly your love, prayers, and well wishes for my health. I’ve felt it, and it’s meant the world. I’ve been at home recovering and I’m doing well and will be better and stronger than before,” Malik wrote.

The singer, who recently released his fifth solo album, Konnakol, noted that he had to re-evaluate his upcoming commitments to ensure a full recovery. “I’ve had to take another look at my schedule for the months ahead and have to reduce the number of shows on the Konnakol Tour. I want to make sure I still get out and see as many of you as I possibly can. I’m really looking forward to playing these shows for you, and I hope to see the rest of you around the world very soon. Big Love, Z,” he added.

Ticket holders for the canceled U.S. dates have been promised refunds. Fans are encouraged to check Malik’s official tour page for updates on the remaining international dates. The tour disruption follows a difficult period for the artist, who was forced to cancel several promotional record store appearances across the East Coast immediately following his recent health scare.
