Nicolás Jaar, Fatima Al Qadiri, ZULI contribute exclusive tracks to Nisf Madeena, a Beirut-relief compilation

Ma3azef and the NYC-based mastering engineer Heba Kadry have pulled together a 17-track compilation called Nisf Madeena (half city) to aid local initiatives in Beirut a month after the deadly port explosion.

Nisf Madeena, out now, includes new, exclusive material from the likes of Nicolás Jaar, recent Breaking Through subject DJ Plead, Zuli, Deena Abdelwahed, STILL, Slikback and Fatima Al Qadiri, to name a few.

“Almost a month after the explosion, swaths of volunteers

and activists are still roaming the streets to clean up the debris and shattered glass, and are working day and night to provide relief for those affected,” the press release reads. All proceeds from Nisf Madeena will go towards the Fundraising Campaign for the Arts and Culture Community in Beirut, the Beirut Musicians’ Fund and Beit el Baraka, an organization supporting retired citizens.

Listen to Nisf Madeena and head over to Bandcamp to pick up the compilation.
