Gilles Peterson's We Out Here to host virtual festival raising money for Black Lives Matter charities

This weekend, Gilles Peterson‘s We Out Here festival will take place online and on the radio.

From August 21st through 23rd, We Out Here & On Air will be broadcast via video stream on Mixcloud Live and across two radio stations: Peterson’s Worldwide FM and Reform Radio in Manchester. All proceeds from the event will go to Black Lives Matter-affiliated organizations.

Attendees can enjoy 50 artists across eight stages, including Mr Scruff, DJ Paulette and Underground Resistance’s Mark Flash. There will also be panel discussions, films, workshops and kids activities to tune into throughout the festival.

Prior to the pandemic, the UK festival, which centers soul, jazz, funk, R&B, hip-hop, Afrobeat and disco, was scheduled to take place in Abbots Ripton on August 20th.
