Usher, Lil Jon and Ludacris share new song 'SexBeat'

Usher, Lil Jon and Ludacris have shared a new song entitled ‘SexBeat’ today (April 10), some 16 years after the trio collaborated on hits ‘Yeah!’ and ‘Lovers and Friends’.

You can listen to the new song below:

The release of the song’s studio version comes days after Lil Jon premiered the track last Sunday (April 5) during an online battle event hosted by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, in which the king of crunk faced off against T-Pain.

Lil Jon revealed during the stream that ‘SexBeat’ was recorded two years prior, and it took a lot of convincing for Usher to allow the rapper to premiere it over the stream.

Whether the new single will appear on Usher’s upcoming ‘Confessions 2’ album is yet to be confirmed, but Jon tweeted last year that it would when he teased the song’s existence. The new album will be the first from Usher since 2016’s ‘Hard II Love’.

Usher has been in the news this week after The Weekend revealed he was “angry” when he first heard Usher’s 2012 track ‘Climax’, thinking it sounded like one of his own songs. The Toronto singer told Variety: “I heard ‘Climax’, that Usher song, and was like: ‘Holy fuck, that’s a Weeknd song.’”

Usher responded with social media #ClimaxChallenge. The Weeknd went on to clarify in a tweet: “Usher is a King and always an inspiration so it was flattering to hear what him and Diplo did on climax.”
