yunè pinku shares “Believe” from new EP, touring with Caribou

Singer-songwriter and producer yunè pinku has announced a new EP, Scarlet Lamb, due out on October 4 via Method 808. According to a press release, “Beneath the balmy melodies and ASMR-evoking details there is a host of gothic imagery, with Jane Eyre, Dracula and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein cited as particular lyrical touchpoints” on it. See the cover art below.

The first single is “Believe,” a glistening electro track that yunè wrote and produced with Cecile Believe. “It’s about the elevation that faith (whether externally or internally) can give you,” she says. “It’s written from an almost omnipresent point of view, like a guardian angel or a lost friend on the other side looking out for you. Sonically, it’s also moving into a more alternative-indie range of sounds with some slight hyperpop influences in the percussions of the track. I think it was one of/if not the first track made off this EP, so in my mind it’s a bit of a baptism track for the whole project.”

yunè will be on tour supporting Caribou this fall, including an NYC show at The Great Hall at Avant Gardner on November 21. See all dates below.
