Young Fresh Fellows touring around Solid Sound fest (1st NYC show in 23 years)

Seattle indie rock icons Young Fresh Fellows are looking to have their busiest year in a very long time. 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of their classic debut album, The Fabulous Sounds Of The Pacific Northwest, and to celebrate they’re giving it a deluxe reissue via Ominvore Recordings later this year. Details are still TBA.

The band, which includes frontman Scott McCaughey (REM, Baseball Project), guitarist Kurt Bloch (The Fastbacks), bassist Jim Sangster and NRBQ drummer John Perrin (replacing the irreplaceable-but-retired Tad Hutchinson), will be touring, with Seattle and Portland shows in May and a few very rare Midwest and East Coast shows in June around their appearance at Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival.

Stops include Madison, Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia and NYC’s Bowery Electric on June 27 with The Figgs. This will be YFF’s first NYC show since 2001 when they opened for The Soft Boys at Irving Plaza.
