Watch The Babies (Kevin Morby, Cassie Ramone) play their first show in 11 years (video, setlist)
The Babies, the great early-2010s band led by Kevin Morby and Cassie Ramone of Vivian Girls, are back together to play a few shows, the first of which was Wednesday night at Los Angeles’ Teragram Ballroom. It was their first show in 11 years.
The group, which also includes Justin Sullivan and Brian Schleyer, had the stage decked out with “THE BABIES” in mylar balloon letters and the band and crowd seemed to be in a festive mood judging by the video that’s surfaced online. The night started with “Alligator,” the opening track to their fantastic 2012 sophomore album Our House on the Hill, and the set included almost all of that album and the lion’s share of their self-titled debut. The four-song encore closed with “Somebody Else,” which was the b-side to “Meet Me in the City.” Check out the Teragram setlist and video from the show below.
The Babies play Teragram again tonight with PG14, and then head to Brooklyn, where they’ll play Elsewhere on 9/23 with Jeffrey Lewis, and Warsaw on 9/24 with Joanna Sternberg.
