Watch Pulp play another new song, “Got to Have Love,” at first of two Brooklyn shows (videos, pics, setlist”)

Pulp continue to play new songs on their North American tour. Chicago got “Spike Island,” they premiered “My Sex” at the first of two Toronto shows, and on Friday in Brooklyn at their first of two Kings Theatre shows, they played another for the first time, “Got to Have Love.”

With its girl group chorus, “Got to Have Love” has a ’60s Phil Spector feel. This one, while unreleased, actually dates back to late ’90s and was demoed as a possibility for Pulp’s 2001 album We Love Life. You can watch Pulp play it live for the very first time ever below.

Interestingly, the actual printed setlist shows that there were three possible songs to be played as the first song of the second encore. The others were “Spike Island” and a song that has yet to be played anywhere yet, “Farmers Market.” Maybe Pulp will play that tonight at Kings Theatre Night 2, or further on the tour.

It sure seems like Pulp might have a new album in the works, doesn’t it?

As for the rest of Pulp’s set, it was packed with classics, including “Common People,” “Babies,” “This is Hardcore,” “Disco 2000,” “Do You Remember the First Time?,” “Weeds,” “Sorted for E’s and Wizz,” “Razzmatazz” and more. Check out the full setlist, more video from Kings Theatre Night 1 and photos by Stephanie F. Black below.

In other news, while in town, Jarvis taped an episode of the Criterion Collection’s Criterion Closet YouTube series which will hopefully be posted soon. Check out Criterion’s polaroid of Jarvis in the closet below.
