Watch Ministry play ‘With Sympathy’ & ‘Twitch’ songs for the first time since the ’80s at Cruel World Fest (video, setlist)

One of the most anticipated sets at Cruel World 2024, which happened Saturday in Pasadena, was Ministry who were playing an all-’80s set including songs from their disowned 1983 synthpop debut, With Sympathy, and 1986’s Twitch, most of which they haven’t played since Ronald Reagan was president. They of course made them sound much more like current Ministry songs.

It was the first time they’d played With Sympathy songs “Work for Love” and “Effigy (I’m Not An)” in 40 years, while Twitch‘s “All Day,” “Over the Shoulder,” and “Just Like You” got their first play since 1987. Early track “I’m Falling” got its first performance since 1984, and Twitch song “We Believe” was played for the first time in 21 years. There was also With Sympathy‘s “Revenge,” which they played a few times in 2023, and the show ended with their classic “(Everyday Is) Halloween.”
