Watch Bruce Springsteen play a Sea.Hear.Now afterparty w/ Noah Kahan & more at The Stone Pony
Bruce Springsteen headlines day two of Asbury Park’s Sea.Hear.Now festival with The E Street Band today (9/15), and on the eve of that, he made an appearance at a much more intimate Asbury venue, The Stone Pony, as part of a festival afterparty on Saturday night (9/14). As Rolling Stone reports, festival founder Danny Clinch hosted “the Ocean Ave Stomp featuring Tangiers Blues Band with Very Special Guests.” Those guests included night one Sea.Hear.Now headliner Noah Kahan, as well as Robert Randolph, Jake Clemons of The E Street Band, Grace Potter, Illiterate Light, Rachel Ana Dobken and more.
The covers-filled set included renditions of songs by Muddy Waters (“The Blues Had a Baby and They Named it Rock and Roll” and “I Just Want to Make Love to You”), Johnny Cash (“Folsom Prison Blues,” with Kahan on vocals), John Lee Hooker (“Boom Boom”), Don Raye (“Down the Road a Piece”), Little Richard (“Lucille”), Them (“Gloria”), Bob Dylan (“All Along the Watchtower”), Beastie Boys (“Fight for Your Right”), Chuck Berry (“Let it Rock”), Neil Young (“Motorcycle Mama”), and more.
