Uzuri teams up with Johannesburg's Femme Kollektive Experiment for week-long mix takeover

Lakuti‘s label Uzuri has launched a takeover by Femme Kollektive Experiment.

Femme Kollektive Experiment is a crew based in South Africa who seek to change the country’s male-dominated dance music industry.

Formed in 2017 in Gauteng, the group features five women—Thuli Majozi, Wenawedwa Nofemela, Tsaki Zibi, Bontle Kgeletsane and Bonolo Mafoyane (AKA Sumthin’ Brown)—whose styles span from house to techno to jazz to souul and beyond, and who will each upload one mix this week on the Uzuri SoundCloud.

The label says the series is part of an effort to amplify Black voices from outside the USA and Europe.

First up is Thuli Majozi, whose mix you can listen to below.
