Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross collab w/ Low’s Alan Sparhawk and BJ Burton on alt version of “Vaster Than Empires” from ‘Queer’ soundtrack

Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails composed the score for Luca Guadagnino’s new film Queer, which includes the closing credits song “Vaster Than Empires” featuring lead vocals by Brazilian music legend Caetano Veloso. As Stereogum points out, they’ve now shared an alternate version of that song featuring Low‘s Alan Sparhawk on lead vocals and musician and producer BJ Burton, who helped Low reshape their sound on Ones and Sixes, Double Negative and HEY WHAT. It’s weirder, darker, heavier and very cool.

You can listen to both versions below.

Meanwhile, Trent & Atticus were nominated for two Golden Globes for their other Guadagnino collab this year, Challengers, with noms for Best Score and Best Original Song (“Compress/Repress”). Good luck, guys!
