WHEN WE WERE YOUNG SIDESHOWS
The 2024 edition of Las Vegas fest When We Were Young happens in October, and they’ve announced the official sideshows, featuring A Day to Remember, Cobra Starship, Simple Plan, The Used & Taking Back Sunday, and more.
JACK WHITE
For those wishing Jack White would stop playing surprise one-offs and announce a proper tour, it’s not happening anytime soon. “We won’t really be announcing dates in advance so much,” he says, “we will mostly be playing at smalll clubs, back yard fetes, and a few festivals here and there to help pay for expenses.”
JULIEN BAKER
Julien Baker has added NYC to her fall tour featuring multi-night runs in various cities.
KNOCKED LOOSE
Having just laid waste to Madison Square Garden opening for Slipknot, Knocked Loose have announced fall headline dates where they’ll be joined by The Garden, Drain and Militarie Gun.
GUSTER
Guster have announced the second leg of their “We Also Have Eras” tour, which kicks off January 24 in Philly and wraps up February 15 in Los Angeles. The band say: “We Also Have Eras is not your average rock concert. It’s a deep chronological journey through our music with skits, costume changes, and plenty of piss-poor acting. It was too much fun the first time and we missed a lot of important cities, so we’re rebooting it this winter. This’ll be your last chance to see this show!” The NYC-area stop happens January 25 at Capitol Theatre in Port Chester.
STEPHEN BRODSKY (CAVE IN / MUTOID MAN)
Cave In and Mutoid Man’s Stephen Brodsky has announced his first-ever residency, which happens every 3rd Tuesday from Sept 2024 through Feb 2025 at Myrtle in Providence, RI. Shows are 21+ and free, and Brodsky says to expect “Old stuff, new stuff, acoustic, electric, covers, surprise guests.”
TRAUMA RAY
Fort Worth, TX shoegazers Trauma Ray have been on the rise for a while and they just announced that they’ll follow their string of increasingly good EPs with their first full-length album, and they’ll be touring with Panchiko.
SLOWDIVE
Slowdive have added a second Brooklyn show to their fall tour and you can get tickets early with our presale.
KORINE
NYC synthwave duo Korine have dates this summer and fall, starting August 23 at Market Hotel in Bushwick with Johnny Dynamite and Ronny Stone. They’ve also got shows in Providence, and then Pacific Northwest shows in Portland and Seattle, plus September dates in Miami and Chicago (Cold Waves) and in October they’ll head to Athens, GA for the Southern Gothic Festival.
PSYMON SPINE
NYC’s Psymon Spine just released a new single and will start their tour on August 24 at Michigan’s All Can Festival and then heads west. Before that, they’ll play a hometown warm-up show at Brooklyn Made on August 16 with VNYTS.
DANIEL AVERY / LAUREL HALO
UK techno/shoegaze wiz Daniel Avery will be visiting NYC next month for an all-nighter at Basement on September 21 which runs 11:30 PM – 7 AM. Also on the bill, that spills into the adjacent Studio: Laurel Halo, BLANKA, DAIYAH, Perel, and Masha Mar.
