THE VACCINES / THUS LOVE

UK band The Vaccines have announced an early 2025 tour with US band Thus Love. Dates kick off January 16 in Philly and include a NYC show at Brooklyn Steel on January 17. Before that, Thus Love will tour in support of their upcoming album All Pleasure, including a Brooklyn show at Elsewhere Zone One on November 8 with Robber Robber.

OASIS

The ticket on-sale for Oasis’ UK/Ireland tour was a little bumpy. Maybe it won’t be as bad in North America, and it seems like dates could be announced sooner than later.

LOLLAPALOOZA SOUTH AMERICA

Lollapalooza has announced the lineups for its 2025 festivals in Chile, Argentina and Brazil, and headliners include Olivia Rodrigo, Justin Timberlake, Alanis Morissette, and Tool.

PRIMAVERA SOUND CANCELS 2024 LATIN AMERICA EDITIONS

Primavera Sound has announced that its 2024 editions in Latin America have been canceled “due to external difficulties that prevent us from organizing events at the level that the public who have supported us so much deserves.” Says Alfonso Lanza, director of Primavera Sound: “This is undoubtedly a difficult decision, taken after many months of work and after pursuing numerous paths in order to be able to hold these events with guarantees, especially in the context of the current musical industry situation and its challenges. Now that we have exhausted all of the possibilities, we must be prudent and focus all our energy on future plans”. He adds: “We want to thank our local partners for their dedication and effort, they have given invaluable support for a project in which we continue to believe for its cultural value and for extending the musical routes in the southern hemisphere at atypical times of the year, something that we consider positive for all the parties involved in the process, from fans to artists.”

PUNK ROCK BOWLING

While the lineup has yet to be announced, Las Vegas fest Punk Rock Bowling will be back in 2025.

THE PHILIP GLASS ENSEMBLE

The Philip Glass Ensemble will be playing live scores to Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi and Naqoyqatsi as part of their 2024/2025 international tour.

ANDREW BIRD – GEZELLIGHEID 2024

Andrew Bird has announced the 2024 edition of his annual intimate, unique Gezelligheid holiday shows in Chicago, happening December 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 at Fourth Presbyterian Church.

MARIKA HACKMAN

Marika Hackman, who released her excellent fourth album Big Sigh back in January, begins her first North American tour in five years on Thursday in Toronto. She’ll be out with Art School Girlfriend, and dates include Brooklyn’s Elsewhere on September 9. She’s also added an in-store at Rough Trade on September 10 where she’ll perform and sign copies of Big Sigh.

MOUNT EERIE

Mount Eerie will celebrate his new album Night Palace with NYC and LA shows in November.

DAVE MATTHEWS BAND

Having just wrapped up their summer tour, Dave Matthews Band have announced fall dates, including two nights at Madison Square Garden.

SUUNS

SUUNS’ new album The Breaks is out this week, and they’ve just announced West Coast dates in support, hitting Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, Arcata, Reno, San Francisco and Los Angeles in November.

Minimal wave duo Xeno & Oaklander will play a NYC release show for their new album.

GEESEFEST 2024

Geese are currently on tour with King Gizzard but will close out the year with the second edition of their three-day Geesefest in Brooklyn.

WNYC CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

WNYC will celebrate its centennial next week with free event at SummerStage in Central Park featuring Laurie Anderson with Sexmob, Nada Surf, Ira Glass and more.
