Tour news: STRFKR, Billy Strings, Sir Babygirl, Pantera openers, Big Ears, more

STRFKR / RUTH RADELET (CHROMATICS)

Portland’s STRFKR will release new album Parallel Realms on March 1 via Polyvinyl. They’ve also announced a spring tour for it that begins April 4 in Santa Ana, CA and wraps up May 3 in Los Angeles, with a NYC stop at Brooklyn Steel on 4/18. They’ll be back out this summer hitting the Northwest and Southwest. All dates are with former Chromatics singer Ruth Radelet and summer dates are also with Holy Wave.

KRAFTWERK

Kraftwerk will descend upon Los Angeles at the end of May for nine nights at Walt Disney Concert Hall, where the German electronic icons will play eight of their albums in full before closing out their run with a night of classics from throughout their catalog.

WAXAHATCHEE

Katie Crutchfield will tour for her sixth album as Waxahatchee, Tigers Blood, beginning in April.

PANTERA / LAMB OF GOD TOUR OPENERS (NEST, CHILD BITE, SNAFU)

Pantera and Lamb of God will be on tour in February and opening acts have been announced. Along for the ride will be Nest, the trio featuring Scour/Agoraphobic Nosebleed bassist John Jarvis, and Detroit bands Child Bite and Snafu. The tour hits NYC’s Madison Square Garden on February 22, with Child Bite.

SHEER MAG

Sheer Mag have added East Coast dates to the tour supporting their upcoming Third Man debut.

BILLY STRINGS (NYC WITH CHRIS THILE)

Bluegrass musician Billy Strings has announced new tour dates happening this spring, including stops in Tampa, Savannah, St. Augustine, Kexington, Minneapolis and more. Before that, he’ll be in NYC on February 1 to play a 65th Street Session with Chris Thile and the NY Philharmonic at Lincoln Center. All dates are here.

BONNAROO

We’re getting festival lineups this week, and Bonnaroo’s includes Red Hot Chili Peppers, Post Malone, Fred again.., Interpol, The Mars Volta, Carly Rae Jepsen, GWAR, IDLES, and more.

BOSTON CALLING

Boston Calling also announced its 2024 lineup which includes Ed Sheeran, The Killers, Megan Thee Stallion, Chappell Roan, and more.

BIG EARS LINEUP ADDITIONS

Eclectic Knoxville festival Big Ears has added a few more acts to its 2024 edition, which happens March 21-24. Those include London trio Bar Italia, Amythyst Kiah, Joseph Allred, Eli Winter Trio, Drum Major Instinct, Matt Mitchell, Wyatt Ellis, Tennessee Sheiks, and JG Thirlwell’s Silver Mantis. That’s in addition to previously announced acts including Herbie Hancock, Evan Lurie Quintet, Laurie Anderson, John Paul Jones, Digable Planets, Charles Lloyd and Adrianne Lenker, and more.

THE SMILE

Radiohead offshoot The Smile will soon release their second album, and while they haven’t announced North American dates yet, they have announced a European trek.

JULIA HOLTER

Julia Holter will tour in support of her just-announced sixth album.

THE SALT COLLECTIVE FT MATTHEW CAWS, MITCH EASTER, MORE

Paris-based supergroup The Salt Collective will be on an East Coast tour this month and the lineup of the band includes Matthew Caws (Nada Surf), Mitch Easter (Let’s Active), Chris Stamey & Gene Holder (The dB’s), Lynn Blakey (Tres Chicas), and Rob Ladd (The Connells). Stamey and Easter are reviving thier ’70s group Sneakers to  open the shows.

CMAT

CMAT, aka Irish singer-songwriter Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, released her second album, Crazymad, for Me, back in October, and her tour starts in April and now includes two NYC shows

SIR BABYGIRL

Sir Babygirl will celebrate five years of their debut LP Crush On Me with an NYC show on Valentine’s Day (2/14) at Bowery Ballroom. They’re calling it “A very special one night only concert of the album reimagined with plenty of plot twists and costume changes.”
