SHAKIRA

Shakira postponed the fall arena run of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour to next spring, and has also upgraded shows to stadiums, including NJ’s Metlife Stadium on May 15. Meanwhile, she’s also been announced as headliner for the WorldPride DC 2025 Welcome Concert on May 31 at Nationals Park. Tickets for the spring tour go on sale Friday, October 25 at noon local time.

CRUEL WORLD 2025

Cruel World, the Pasadena festival that is heavy on ’80s alternative and new wave, has announced its 2025 lineup, which includes Nick Cave, New Order, a ‘Til Tuesday reunion, Death Cult, Devo, OMD, Garbage, and more.

OASIS

It looks like the UK will get The Verve’s Richard Ashcroft and Cast as openers on their 2025 reunion tour; North America gets Cage the Elephant.

STEREOPHONICS

Britpop band Stereophonics will be back in North America for a spring 2025 tour that kicks off March 21 in Montreal and wraps up April 11 in Mexico City. The NYC show is at Brooklyn Paramount on March 25.

MASSIVE ATTACK

Massive Attack just canceled their fall US tour, but it looks like they’ll be back in North America in the spring.

DARKSIDE

Darkside are back with a new single and news of their first major US tour in over a decade.

Larkin Poe will release their new album Bloom in January and they’ve announced tour dates in support, with Parker Millsap opening the first half of the run and Amythyst Kiah the second. The NYC stop on the tour is Irving Plaza on May 10 with Amythyst Kiah.

CONFIDENCE MAN

Saucy Aussie duo Confidence Man just released their new album 3AM (LA LA LA), and they’ll bring their tongue-in-cheek live show to US and Canadian cities in March.

LA SÉCURITÉ / THE GO! TEAM

Montreal band La Sécurité will open for The Go! Team on a few East Coast dates next week.

GOWANUS BASIN SLUDGEFEST

Producer and musician Martin Bisi has revived the Autonomous People Of Gowanus and have announced they’ll play the inaugural Gowanus Basin Sludgefest on Wednesday, October 23 at Halyards (406 3rd Ave, Brooklyn). The lineup of the band is Bisi, Bobby Bunny (Ultrabunny), Michael Jung (Mustafina, Alice Donut), and Bradford Reed. Dan Gitlin and Josh Mathews’ Comrade Red are also on the bill. Free.

God’s Hate’s last show of 2024 doubles as the NYC debut of Taylor & Colin Young’s death-metally band Deadbody.

Fans of ’90s/early 2000s Long Island emo and post-hardcore, take note: Glassjaw vocalist Daryl Palumbo’s Head Automatica project and The Movielife have announced five co-headlining shows together for this December.

They Might Be Giants have announced US dates in the South and on the West Coast for 2025.

SETH HERZOG’S ‘SWEET’ HALLOWEEN

Seth Herzog’s monthly live comedy series SWEET just celebrated its 20th anniversary last month and will be celebrating Halloween as only they can on Tuesday, October 22 at Chelsea Music Hall. Guests include Matt Friend, Chris Turner, Mike Brown, Erik Bergstrom, Jeffery Gurian, Dotun Olubeko, and “surprises.”
