FUNERAL CHANT

Oakland’s Funeral Chant, who Justin Ennis of Ulthar named a metal band to watch on our 2023 list, have announced their first East Coast tour. Things kick off in NYC at Trans-Pecos on August 8.

MARYLAND DEATHFEST

Ahead of its 2024 edition this weekend, Maryland Deathfest announced its first names for 2025, happening on May 22-25 in Baltimore.

APARNA NANCHERLA

Aparna Nancherla has a few standup dates on her schedule, including LA shows at Hollywood Improv (The Lab) on June 6 & 23, and Brooklyn’s Bell House on September 18 & 19.

REMI WOLF

Remi Wolf announced a fall tour earlier this week with Lava La Rue (first leg) and Rachel Chinouriri (second leg) and she’s already added a third Brooklyn date. She now plays King Theatre on September 30 and October 1 & 2, which are all with Rachel Chinouriri.

PRAWN

NJ emo revivalists Prawn quietly went on hiatus in 2018, and vocalist Tony Clark released his solo album Dyed in the Wool the following year, but now the band is back to celebrate their 15th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of their beloved 2014 sophomore album Kingfisher, and playing shows.

PHILLY MUSIC FEST

Philly Music Fest happens October 21-27 at various Philly venues with various Philly bands, including Slaughter Beach Dog, Sheer Mag, Catbite, Anna Shoemaker, Hurry, and more.

GIFT

NYC dreampop rock band GIFT, who are signed to A Place to Bury Strangers’ Dedstrange label, will be on tour this summer. They head to LA for two shows in June, and then they’ll be out on the East Coast in September including a NYC show at Bowery Ballroom on 9/20.

’70s-influenced California band Drugdealer will be on the road in August.

Boston hardcore legends Slapshot have announced a run of headlining East Coast dates for the fall.

Texas punk vets The Marked Men will be on a short European tour this fall, and on their way home, they’ll stop in Brooklyn.

Austin alt-country artist Carson McHone has announced a covers EP and a headlining summer tour, leading up to her appearance at Merge Records’ 35th anniversary fest.

DEMON SLAYER: KIMETSU NO YAIBA CONCERT TOUR

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, the anime based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, is getting its own concert tour.
