RE-TROS

Beijing’s Re-TROS are wrapping up their current tour of North America, which included a big show at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre in March. They’ll be back in NYC sooner than later as they’ve been added to the bill at Liars’ Essential Tremors festival at Knockdown Center on April 14 that also has Demdike Stare, Black Bananas, Marnie Stern and more on the bill. Before that, they’ll play Seattle, Vancouver, Boston and Chicago.

THE LOX

The LOX — aka Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch — formed in their hometown of Yonkers in 1994, and they’re celebrating their 30th anniversary on tour this year.

WOODS / AVEY TARE

Woods & Avey Tare’s tour starts tonight (4/5) in Woodstock, and hits NYC on April 13 at Knockdown Center. That’s a special show with Natural Information Society (with Dirty Three’s Jim White sitting in as second drummer) and Laraaji also on the bill.

BUILT TO SPILL

Built to Spill had already announced a few Pacific Northwest dates celebrating the 30th anniversary of their classic second album, There’s Nothing Wrong With Love, and now they’ve announced a full tour for it. They’ll play the album front-to-back, and joining them will be cellist John McMahon, whose contributions are a big part of the album.

PULP

Pulp have added a third L.A. show to their September North American reunion tour.

WAND

Wand are opening for Red Hot Chili Peppers on a few dates of their upcoming stadium tour and have decided to make a summer of it with a headline tour.

SODOM

German thrash legends Sodom are playing Deathfest in Maryland and California, and they also have MDF-presented shows in NYC and Chicago.

WINNETKA BOWLING LEAGUE

Los Angeles trio Winnetka Bowling League release their debut album Sha La La on May 31 via Weather / MDDN Records and have announced a summer headline tour that kicks off June 25 iin Seattle and wraps up in NYC at Bowery Ballroom on July 23. This weekend, they’re also playing shows opening for Waterparks and Loveless.

WINNETKA BOWLING LEAGUE tour

+/- (PLUS/MINUS)

Indie rock vets +/- (Plus/Minus) recently announced their first album in 10 years and they’ll celebrate with a release show at Brooklyn’s Union Pool on June 1 with Sebadoh’s Jason Lowenstein. Before that, they’ll open for The Van Pelt at Baby’s All Right on April 28.

KNEECAP

Kneecap just wrapped up their North American tour, and they’ll be back in the fall for shows around Louder Than Life.

BLUE NOTE JAZZ FEST 2024

The 2024 edition Blue Note Jazz Festival happens at five venues throughout June, and the 2024 lineup has been announced. It includes Wynton Marsalis, Andra Day, Corinne Bailey Rae, Yo La Tengo with the Sun Ra Arkestra, and more.

GONERFEST 2024

Gonerfest happens September 26-29 in Memphis with The Rip Offs, Derv Gordon, Etran de L’air, Jon Spencer, Bailter Space & more.

GOOD LUCK

Back in January, there were signs of activity from great Bloomington, Indiana DIY band Good Luck, who broke up in 2012 after releasing two albums and an EP. They did a one-off reunion in 2018 for Russian Recording’s 15th anniversary concert, and now they’ve announced their first show since.

INCENDIARY

Long Island hardcore greats Incendiary usually do one-offs and festival appearances in lieu of extensive touring, and they’ve just announced a big NYC show with Private Mind and Soul Blind.

LAURA JANE GRACE

Laura Jane Grace (Against Me!) begins the next leg of her tour supporting this year’s Hole in My Head on May 10 in Milwaukee, but before she hits the road she’s added a full band NJ show with Teenage Halloween and The Devil’s Twins.

RAEKWON

The Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon has upcoming dates in NYC (celebrating 420) and Dallas and he’ll join Wu for Vegas shows this fall.
