MARIKA HACKMAN / ART SCHOOL GIRLFRIEND

Marika Hackman will soon start her first North American tour in five years which is with Art School Girlfriend (a very good double bill). It’s in support of her great new album Big Sigh and kicks off September 5 in Toronto and includes a NYC show at Elsewhere Hall on September 9.

INDIGO DE SOUZA / ILL PEACH

Indigo De Souza has announced a few September tour dates which are with Ill Peach. Things kick off at NJ’s Asbury Lanes September 23 and from there heads to Portsmouth, Providence and Woodstock, leading up to appearances at the All Things Go festivals in DC and NYC. Before this run, Indigo will play Raleigh’s Hopscotch Fest and Richmond’s Iron Blossom fest.

MARIAH CAREY CHRISTMAS TOUR 2024

Mariah Carey has announced her 2024 Christmas tour where she’ll play her yuletide juggernaut “All I Want For Christmas Is You” (which turns 30 this year), other holiday favorite and some of her non holiday hits in 20 cities. Dates kick off November 6 in Highland, CA and wrap up with three NYC-area shows: NJ’s Prudential Center on 12/13, Long Island’s UBS Arena on 12/15, and Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on 12/17.

AEROSMITH RETIRE FROM TOURING

Aerosmith have announced they have retired from touring due to Steven Tyler’s vocal injuries, saying “a full recovery… is not possible.”

SOS Booking has announced the initial lineup for the 2024 For the Children benefit which happens December 14 & 15 at LA’s Belasco Theatre. On the bill so far: Gorilla Biscuits, 100 Demons, Mindforce, Comeback Kid, Never Ending Game, One King Down, On Broken Wings, Big Boy, Torture, Human Garbage, Hold My Own, Ends Of Sanity, Final Resting Place, No Way Out, Peace Of Mind, God Awful, and Hereditary. Weekend passes are on sale.

DAVID BYRNE ‘REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL’ 5TH ANNIVERSARY

David Byrne will celebrate five years of Reasons To Be Cheerful, his non-profit online magazine, with a special NYC event featuring Fred Armisen, Thao, and more.
