LOLA YOUNG
London singer/songwriter Lola Young releases her new album This Wasn’t Meant For You Anyway this week, and will support it with a North American tour this fall, including stops in Toronto, NYC (Webster Hall on 9/28), DC/Baltimore (All Things Go fest), Atlanta, New Orleans, Dallas, Phoenix, LA, Portland Seattle Vancouver, and more.
SOUL COUGHING
’90s era NYC band Soul Coughing — Mike Doughty, Sebastian Steinberg, Mark degli Antoni and Yuval Gabay — are reuniting, unlikely as it may have seemed even a year ago, for their first tour since 1999.
REGIONAL JUSTICE CENTER
Ian Shelton has been keeping busy with Militarie Gun lately — they released the fantastic Life Under the Gun last year and have been doing a bunch of touring around it — and now he’s announced the live return of his pulverizing hardcore band Regional Justice Center.
JASON ISBELL RYMAN RESIDENCY 2024
Jason Isbell has announced details of his annual residency at Nashville’s Ryamn Auditorium, this year happening October 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, and 20. Openers include Alice Randall (10/10), Garrison Starr (10/11), Mary Gauthier (10/12), Caitlin and Liz Rose (10/13), Matraca Berg (10/17), Iris Dement (10/18), Gretchen Peters (10/19) and Kim Richey (10/20). BLACK TUSK / SOMNURI / HORSEBURNER
Savannah sludge metal vets Black Tusk will be on the road this summer with Somnuri and Horseburner along for the ride. The Way Forward Tour kicks off July 13 in Athens, GA and makes its way around the US and Canada — though no Northeast dates — before wrapping up in Pensacola, FL on September 21.
MONO (WITH AN ORCHESTRA)
Japanese post-rock vets MONO just released their excellent, Steve Albini-recorded, orchestra-assisted new album OATH, and now they’ve also announced three US shows with a 12-piece orchestra.
COWBOY JUNKIES
Canadian dreampop/country greats Cowboy Junkies will be on tour this fall, with stops including Buffalo, Detroit, Kalamazoo, Chicago, Minneapolis, Iowa City and more.
THE BEVIS FROND
Nick Saloman will be packing his bags this fall for UK indie rock cult heroes The Bevis Frond‘s first US tour in 25 years.
STEVE WYNN
The Dream Syndicate‘s Steve Wynn will release a memoir, I Wouldn’t Say It If It Wasn’t True, and new solo album, Make it Right, on August 30. He’ll tour this fall with evenings of “stories and songs.”
THE BASEBALL PROJECT
Before his solo tour, Steve Wynn will be out with The Baseball Project, his America’s Pastime-themed indie rock band with R.E.M.’s Peter Buck, Mike Mills and Scott McCaughey, as well as Linda Pitmon.
THE SOUNDTRACK OF OUR LIVES
Swedish psych-rock great The Soundtrack of Our Lives appear to be back in action after last year’s reunion shows, with more dates this summer. Unfortunately all of this summer’s dates seem to be in Sweden, but there are lots of shows if you’re willing to travel to, say, Uppsala, Linköping, or Gothenburg. Come back to North America, TSOOL!

A. Savage of Parquet Courts has announced a new run of intimate US shows this fall.
THE MOVIELIFE ON A BOAT
Ahoy! The Movielife will be playing a Rocks Off! Concert Cruise on August 8 aboard the Liberty Belle with special guest Travis Shettel of Piebald. It’s currently the band’s only upcoming show.

Sidney Gish says she’s “NOT GOING ANYWHERE” this summer, so she’s announced a bunch of intimate shows in NYC.
STATESIDE ADDED TO SEEYOUSPACECOWBOY TOUR
SeeYouSpaceCowboy have added Stateside to their summer Coup De Grâce tour, which is with The Callous Daoboys and Omerta. SYSC say “We’ll be playing a handful of new songs, visiting places we haven’t been to in a minute, and we still have a few more things we’ve yet to announce. Where will we see you?” The tour hits Brooklyn at Elsewhere on August 2, which is one of a few dates that also includes The Blind Equation.

“Espresso” singer Sabrina Carpenter has announced a fall tour (and was recently added to Outside Lands).
TYLER THE CREATOR
Sabrina Carpenter is taking Tyler, The Creator’s place on the Outside Lands lineup…and he also dropped off Lollapalooza.

Alt-pop artist Sarah Kinsley has announced her debut full-length album, Escaper, and a tour.
TONES FESTIVAL
Colors Studios, which describes itself as a “unique aesthetic music platform showcasing exceptional talent from all around the globe,” has announced its first-ever TONES of event, happening on October 10 and 11 at Knockdown Center. and featuring Moses Sumney, Mustafa, Naomi Sharon and more.

Ted Leo has added a Jersey City show to his Shake the Sheets anniversary tour.
