IT DIES TODAY – THE CAITIFF CHOIR 20TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW
Buffalo metalcore vets It Dies Today will play 2004’s The Caitiff Choir in full for its 20th anniversary at NJ’s Starland Ballroom on October 26 with fellow metalcore/hardcore vets Walls of Jericho, Eighteen Visions (also playing a 2004 album in full, Obsession), This Is Hell, and more TBA. Tickets go on artist presale Thursday (5/30) at 10 AM. Password = TRUSTKILL.
PILE / OCEANATOR
Pile and Oceanator are teaming up and hitting the road in late summer. Dates include a show at Tubby’s Kingston on October 2. You can also catch Pile in Brooklyn at Elsewhere Rooftop on July 29. All dates here
DAÐI FREYR
Icelandic musician Daði Freyr will be back in North America this summer for Lollapalooza and will be touring around it with stops in Detroit, Louisville, St. Louis, Oklahoma City, Las Vegas, Pomona, and San Francisco.
JANE’S ADDICTION / LOVE & ROCKETS
The original lineup of Jane’s Addiction are taking Love & Rockets on tour in late summer and have just added a second NYC show.
MAX RICHTER
Composer Max Richter releases new album ’In A Landscape’ in September and will be on tour with ACME Ensemble in spring 2025.
JONATHAN RICHMAN
Jonathan Richman has announced fall tour dates where, as usual, he will be accompanied by drummer Tommy Larkins.
ANDY SHAUF
Andy Shauf has announced fall solo tour dates which kick off September 9 in Chicago and wrap up November 9 in Dallas.
BALANCE AND COMPOSURE / KEVIN DEVINE
Balance and Composure returned from hiatus last year with two new songs and live shows, and now they’ve announced their first new album since 2016’s Light We Made. They’ve also announced a tour with Kevin Devine and MILLY.
FUCKED UP / CHASTITY
Fucked Up will be on the road in July, hitting East Coast cities in the US and Canada on their way to the Merge 35 Festival. Most are with Chastity but their NYC show is with OFF! at Le Poisson Rouge on July 20.
NICKI MINAJ
After wrapping up the North American leg of her tour earlier this month, Nicki Minaj will be back in the US in September for more shows.
BEEBADOOBEE
beabadoobee’s third album is out in August, and her North American tour begins the next month.
LAMP
Long-running Japanese band Lamp will be touring North America for first time later this year, with sellout headline shows in most cities (including Brooklyn Steel on 9/15), and dates opening for Mitski. They’ve just added new shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco and upgraded venues in Chicago and Dallas.
MABE FRATTI
Mabe Fratti will be on tour this fall in support of her new album.
RUSSIAN CIRCLES
Chicago’s Russian Circles will be celebrating their 20th anniversary with a few shows this September, including Chicago, Pittsburgh and Baltimore. Those are with Djunah and Pelican also play the Chicago show. Russian Circles wrap up their trek in NYC for Desertfest.
WAR ON WOMEN ADDED TO FEAR NYC-AREA SHOWS
Fear are going on tour this summer with Guida and D.O.A. and they’ve just announced that War on Women have been added to the NYC show at Racket on August 2 and the NJ show at Starland Ballroom on 8/3.
PITY SEX
After going on indefinite hiatus in 2016, Pity Sex briefly returned to play Sound and Fury in 2022, then they announced that they’d be playing this year’s Tied Down fest in Detroit, and now they announced their first NYC show in eight years with some very exciting support from a mix of old friends and well-matched newer bands.
CLAIRO
Clairo announced her new album Charm last week, and now she’s announced her first shows for it. She’ll play intimate five-night residencies in NYC and Los Angeles.
ONEIDA
Brooklyn indie rock stalwarts Oneida will be playing some shows this summer around the release of their 17th album.
HOPSCOTCH 2024
Hopscotch Music Festival returns to downtown Raleigh from September 5-7, and this year’s headliners are St. Vincent, Waxahatchee, and Faye Webster. Check out the full lineup.
GEORGE CLINTON & PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC
George Clinton‘s retirement never stuck, and he’s been piloting the Parliament Funkadelic mothership for a while now. He has a full roster of tour dates through the summer, including stops in Chicago, Detroit, Denver, Las Vegas, Portland, the Ottawa Jazz Festival and a free show at Lincoln Center.
CHARLY BLISS
Charly Bliss‘ third album, FOREVER, is out in August, and they’ve announced a tour supporting it.
