AMERICAN FOOTBALL
Emo greats American Football have extended their 25th anniversary celebration of their debut album into 2025. “These are the last few US cities we’ll be playing on our LP1 25th Anniversary tour,” the band say. “The shows have been so fun and special and we’re very excited to be able to play in a few more cities we haven’t been to in a while!” Stops include Norwalk (CT), Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Houston, Austin and Dallas.
MELVINS
As if Melvins didn’t have a busy enough 2025, they’ve just announced a six-date California “Spring Break” tour which hits Bakersfield, Fresno, Sacramento, Santa Cruz, San Luis Obispo, and Pioneertown in March. That’s in addition to the Savage Imperial Death March Part II tour with Napalm Death which begins April 4 in San Diego and wraps June 7 in Berkeley, with most major US cities in between including Brooklyn (May 7 at Warsaw).
CAVALERA (EX-SEPULTURA)
Former Sepultura members Max & Iggor Cavalera‘s band Cavalera have announced a U.S. edition of their ‘Third World Trilogy’ tour that has them performing material from the first three Sepultura records, 1985’s Bestial Devastation EP, 1986’s Morbid Visions, and 1987’s Schizophrenia. They’ll bring two great bands along for the ride, Oakland death metallers Necrot and Oxnard crossover thrashers Dead Heat.
SYSTEM OF A DOWN
After announcing select North American stadium shows, System Of A Down have now announced a South American tour, with shows in Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil.
LUCY DACUS
Lucy Dacus kept busy on the road as part of boygenius in 2023, and though we haven’t heard much from her this year, that’s about to change. She’s announced a few intimate shows at “museums and special places” in February, where she’ll play “mostly new songs.”
KHRUANGBIN
Khruangbin have announced Homecoming Dance 2025, a series of three special Texas shows with Helado Negro in Grand Prairie, Houston and Austin in April. Before that, they’ll be in Australia in February and March and have festival appearances lined up for the summer. Head here for all dates and tickets.
MARGARET CHO
Comedian Margaret Cho has announced the 2025 Live & Livid tour. “Live and LIVID is a show celebrating my 40 years as a stand up comedian,” Margaret says. “I will be radiating rage about homophobia, sexism, racism and the fight to stay alive in a culture that is killing us daily.” She adds, “I’ve cycled through many names to get to Live and Livid. Absolutely Angry, Bitch and Bitchy, Count on this C***, but Live and LIVID seems to have a ring to it.” Stops include Tacoma, Vancouver, Albuquerque, Boston, Tulsa and more.
KNOCKDOWN CENTER OUTLINE SERIES
Knockdown Center has announced the Spring 2025 edition of its Outline series. This one is working a little differently than it has before, happening on two different Saturdays two weeks apart. The first has Michael Rother (Neu!, Harmonia), Thurston Moore and more while the second has Explosions in the Sky, múm, and more.
