Thursday share new single “Taking Inventory of a Frozen Lake”

Thursday released their first new music in 13 years in 2024, “Application For Release From the Dream” in April, followed by “White Bikes” in December, and now they’re starting 2025 with a third new song. “Taking Inventory of a Frozen Lake” is another instantly-satisfying track, and the band say it “began life at Steve Evetts’s studio in Jersey on off days when we toured with MCR in 2022. The lyrics refer to the dark night of the soul that people encounter when they are forced to examine their pasts. It reminds us of an updated version of the kind of songs we gravitated towards in the Full Collapse era and we are so blessed and so happy to share it with you.” Hear it below.

Thursday begin a tour with Silverstein, Split Chain, and Arm’s Length later this month, including a Sayreville, NJ show at Starland Ballroom on January 12, and a Huntington, NY show at The Paramount on January 15. Those shows are followed by dates in the UK and Europe, and later this year they’ll support My Chemical Romance at their East Rutherford, NJ show at MetLife Stadium on August 9, and play Coheed and Cambria’s S.S. Neverender cruise festival. See all dates below.
