The Cure launch ‘Songs of a Lost World’ website

It’s hard to doubt that The Cure are getting ready to announce a new album titled Songs of a Lost World. Last week, postcards were sent to fans and posters went up in the band’s hometown of Crawley, UK and today The Cure shared pictures of those on their official social media. Now they’ve launched a Songs of a Lost World website.

Currently the website is just what seems to be a mailing list signup requiring you to solve a roman numerals puzzle (it’s I XI MMXXIV, aka November 1, 2024, which we’re speculating will be the album’s release date).

Meanwhile a friend of mine who had signed up for The Cure’s WhatsApp, received a prompt to message “ONWARDS” and when he did the account wrote back that he had opted in for messages and a message of:

this is the end
of every songs we sing

where did it go?

Some Cure fans will recognize these as lyrics from “Alone,” one of the new songs The Cure played regularly on their Shows of a Lost World Tour. Will this be the first single from the album? We should know soon.
