Stream blink-182’s ‘One More Time… Part 2’ with 8 new songs

Last year, blink-182 released One More Time…, the first album by the classic lineup of Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker in 12 years, and today they’ve followed it with One More Time… Part 2, a deluxe edition with eight new songs. As we said in our review, One More Time has a “culmination of everything they’ve done” vibe that makes it one of the band’s most musically varied albums. It has the Enema of the State-style pop punk, the darker, artier vibes of the untitled album, the “Adam’s Song”/”Stay Together for the Kids”-style power ballads, and plenty of stuff in between. Produced by Travis, it never sounds quite as perfect as the band’s work with the late Jerry Finn, but Travis clearly handled the songs with care.

The album has some endearing, standout moments (“One More Time,” “More Than You Know,” “Bad News”), and it also has some songs that keep the momentum going but don’t stand out as much, and these eight new songs kinda fall into the latter camp. It’s a mix of ballads and bangers that stylistically sound like they’d fit on the metaphorical bridge between Take Off Your Pants and Jacket and untitled, but with the changes in production and vocal inflection that Mark, Tom, and Travis have picked up in the years since. They were probably left off the original album for a reason, but as with everything that Mark, Tom, and Travis make together, these are worth hearing and they’ve got their moments. Listen to the new material below.

blink-182 recently brought their tour to NYC’s Citi Field, and you can read our review of that show.
