Steve Arrington's first solo album in 11 years is coming on Stones Throw

Steve Arrington’s next album, titled Down To The Lowest Terms: The Soul Sessions, is coming out September 18th on Stones Throw.

The funk artist’s first solo album in 11 years features production work from Gifted & Blessed, J.Rocc, Mndsgn, Benedek, Jamma D, Devin Morrison, Knxwledge and Apifera among others. The album’s first single, “Keep Dreamin,” produced by Shibo, has been shared today. “No matter what, no matter how long it takes, I stay focused and put in the work for dreams to come true,” says Arrington.

Arrington was a member of the influential funk band Slave before going solo in the mid-’80s. He left the music industry in 2009 to become a minister, before returning in 2009 with Pure Thang. In 2013 he released a collaborative LP with Dam-Funk called Higher. He made an appearance on Thundercat’s latest album, It Is What It Is, released earlier this year on Brainfeeder.
