Standard Deviation, in-house label of mysterious Kyiv club ∄, releases all-Ukrainian compilation

Kyiv label Standard Deviation has released a compilation to mark the first anniversary of mysterious local club ∄.

Out now, Intermission aims to reflect the current state of Ukraine’s electronic scene, with tracks by ∄ residents Nastya Vogan and Recid, experimental artist John Object and Voin Oruwu, who is a member of rave crew CXEMA.

Intermission also comes with a zine containing interviews with the contributors. It’s the first in a series that will “evolve” alongside future compilations, the label says.

Standard Deviation is the in-house label of ∄, which describes itself as a “non-binary safe space.” The outlet seeks to connect Ukraine’s growing scene with the global club community, and officially launched in September with a split EP from Nene H and Poly Chain.
