Soul Jazz Records details new compilation, Kaleidoscope: New Spirts Known And Unknown

Soul Jazz Records will release a new compilation called Kaleidoscope: New Spirts Known And Unknown on July 17th.

The label arm of London record store Sounds Of The Universe, which has an extensive catalogue that spans archival reggae, krautrock, jungle, leftfield techno and house, turns to the blossoming British jazz scene on this latest collection.

Artists such as Tenderlonious and The 22archestra, Nubya Garcia, Hector Plimmer, Matthew Halsall, Yazmin Lacey, Joe Armon-Jones, Emma-Jean Thackray and Makaya McCraven have all contributed to the 21-track release, which the label says ranges from deep, spiritual jazz and punk-infused funk to electronic experimentations.

The compilation will be released as a double-CD pack or a triple-LP with a third option including a 7-inch. A one-off 12-inch pressing of the Theon Cross and Pokus tracks will also be made available as a separate release.

Listen to previews of the record over at Sounds Of The Universe.
