Sorry Mom sign to Hopeless, playing free show with Oolong at TV Eye
Brooklyn indie-punk duo Sorry Mom (aka Juno Moreno and Taryn Gangi) just signed to Hopeless Records, and their first single for the label is the nervy ramp-up “But I’m A Quarterback.” Vocalist Juno says, “I was thinking a lot about sports when I wrote this song. This year I joined a softball league and we just won our first game. We have lost all the rest though. I hope the song is good and people like to listen to it.” Listen to it below. The song was produced by Kyle Pulley at the Headroom in Philly and it comes with a video directed by Carson and Erik Bloomquist.
Sorry Mom are playing a hometown release show for the new single at Ridgewood, NY’s TV Eye on May 24 with Long Island “emo revival” revivalists Oolong, who just released their great self-titled album last month. The show is FREE WITH RSVP and also includes face painting, balloon animals, tarot card readings, carnival games, prizes, a zine station, and more.
After that, Oolong play a Brooklyn show at The Broadway on June 8 with pulses., Blind Equation, Ultra Deluxe, ok cuddle, and Wifey.
Sorry Mom says:
Sorry mom has officially sold out and we couldn’t be happier. We are so proud and excited to share our new single and music video, out now through Hopeless Records. We have been dreaming of this moment since we first considered music as a career, and we can’t believe we get to do it with such an important label to the scene. I remember first seeing the hopeless logo when I was 14 at my first vans warped tour, and its pretty crazy to see it again now above our name. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every one of you who has supported us along the way. To every band we’ve played with, person we’ve worked with, and to anyone who has ever listened to our music, we know that we could not have done it without you.
To celebrate and say thanks, we are gonna be throwing a release show and party on may 24th, and guess what? IT’S TOTALLY FREE! There’s gonna be a ton of cool stuff at the show like games, prizes, a zine station, and the incredible oolong is gonna open the night up for us. You wont want to miss this, so make sure to rsvp- we cannot wait to throw down with you all and celebrate our fucking RECORD DEAL LETS GOOOOO
Love your favorite corporate sellouts,
Taryn and juno
