Sheffield festival No Bounds presents 2020 Virtual 3D
Livestreaming from Sheffield Industrial Museum (SIM) and Hope Works from October 12th through 18th, the mostly online event will feature a series of small collaborative performances, DJ sets, workshops and talks. Among the DJs locked in for Hope Works are Saoirse, Space Afrika, Blasha & Allatt, The Black Dog and No Bounds founder Lo Shea.
At SIM, the festival will explore the use of large spaces for small groups employing binaural sound. Mark Fell will provide a remote audience participatory installation and Rian Treanor will work with 14-17 year olds to create collaborative music. There will also be a Nyege Nyege Tapes showcase, featuring DJ Diaki, Don Zilla and more.
Outside of performances, the event will see the premiere of several films, including Rebecca Salvadori’s Different Beginnings, commissioned by the festival. Discussions spanning the issues of wellness, ecology and DJ and production methods will also be facilitated.
Hope Works, the venue at the helm of No Bounds Festival, has recently launched a Crowdfunder in efforts to keep the venue afloat through the pandemic.
