Samurai Music to release debut album from Last Life
Italian producer Mauro Picciau wrote most of Recon just before the pandemic hit, and finished it secluded in his hometown of Cagliari Sardinia. The label says the album focuses on the core aspects of his drum & bass style—”built on robust mixdowns, weighty kicks and incisive breakbeat layers”—while also offering a few less dance floor-oriented detours.
There are also collaborations with Samurai affiliates Torn and Homemade Weapons.
Picciau has released primarily on Samurai and Loxy’s Cylon Recordings in the past, as well as his self-run LL imprint.
